Students are welcome to explore campus safely by participating in virtual scavenger hunts to earn points for their college and win special Banana Slug prizes!

Hello Banana Slugs,

As we wave goodbye to 2020 in our rear view mirror, we remain excited and hopeful for the start of a new year and winter quarter in 2021. We encourage you to stay physically active and connected to one another through a variety of virtual fitness and outdoor recreational opportunities. By being proactive and wearing a mask, physical distancing, getting tested, and staying on top of University resources available to you, we plan to continue to resume additional outdoor fitness and recreation activities, programs, and services.
While not all of our Athletics and Recreation facilities are currently available to us, the pandemic has provided an opportunity for us to think creatively about how we can facilitate your wellness virtually while we configure our physical space to allow for the resumption of some activities. Recently, we reopened four of the six West Tennis Courts and the Outdoor Fitness Gym on the East Field Triangle, and East Upper Field jogging path. As the COVID pandemic continues to restrict many plans to resume operations, we are prepared to offer a limited number of reservations to students and membership where federal, state, county, and university requirements allow.
We are pleased to share with you just some of the following options for virtual, recreational programming for winter 2021:

  • Intramural Sports
  • Adventure Rec
  • FitLife
In addition to staying physically engaged and emotionally connected with the above programs, you will also have the opportunity to participate in shaping what our Fall quarter 2021 services, programs and facilities will provide our students and membership. We will be collecting survey responses from current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members on what they’d like to see us develop, include, and or expand for the future minus a pandemic. We invite you to participate as we leave 2020 behind and look forward to being together in 2021.
On behalf of all Athletics and Recreation staff and #MoreSlugs2021 committee members, we hope you are staying physically active and healthy in the new year.
