UC Santa Cruz Slug Recreation memberships now include Group Exercise access! All Slug Recreation members have the ability to register for and participate in our in-person and virtual group exercise classes, including Yoga, Zumba, Pilates, Fit & Strong, and more! Please visit campusrec.ucsc.edu to purchase a Slug Recreation Membership and register for Group Exercise.

We value your membership and are committed to providing a safe and friendly environment for your fitness needs. All members of Slug Recreation have the right to use gender-segregated facilities (including restrooms, locker rooms, etc.) that correspond to their gender identity, regardless of assigned sex at birth. This policy was created in effort to remove barriers and provide a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for all of our members, visitors, and participants in Athletics & Recreation programs and services. Member ID Required for Facility Access

  • A member ID card, student ID, OR *digital member ID barcode is required for entry.
  • In order to request an ID card, please complete this request form and our team will follow up once your card is ready for pick-up at the front desk of the East Field House.
  • To retrieve your digital member ID barcode, download the UC Santa Cruz Slugs app on your smartphone > tap the Member ID icon > login with your credentials. 
  • *Do not screenshot the barcode, as it will no longer be valid for scan-in* 

Pricing

Athletics & Recreation offers multiple membership types and pricing options, including automatic monthly recurring payments for specified memberships! Automatic recurring monthly payments allow you to pay on a monthly basis for the total of your membership commitment; it’s a worry-free way to make sure you have access to the facility each month during the academic or calendar year. 

Note: Automatic monthly recurring payments are available for the Academic Year and Calendar Year membership options only. If this option is selected, you will be automatically charged on a recurring monthly basis (on the 1st of the month) until you opt to cancel.

All memberships will continue to be prorated based on the date of purchase. Please see below for all membership and payment options available to **Non-Student member groups:


**Non-Student member groups include Faculty and Staff, Retirees and Emeriti, Alumni, Affiliates, Minors, and Community members. 

*Monthly recurring payment prices apply to Academic Year and Calendar Year membership options only

*Monthly recurring payment prices do not apply to Academic or Summer Quarter memberships.

*In order to cancel a monthly recurring payment, members must submit the membership cancellation request form prior to the 1st of the month. There is a $50 cancellation fee.

Slug Recreation Membership Includes:

  • Full access to the Slug Recreation Complex (SRC) during operating hours including: East Field House (open), West Field House (open), Fitness Center (open), Aquatics Center 50m Pool (reopening August 25th), East and West Tennis Courts (open), Racquetball Courts (closed until further notice), East Gym (open), and locker rooms (day-use lockers available and lockers for rent).
  • Group Exercise Program which includes:
    • Access to in-person and virtual group exercise (GX) classes (pre-registration required).
    • Access to our online library of on-demand workout videos and recordings of recent live virtual GX class-sessions.

Terms & Conditions:

  • This membership does not guarantee space in any specific group exercise session. Space in group exercise class sessions will be granted on a first come, first served basis according to available capacity.
  • Members must pre-register for all reservations and group exercise class sessions prior to the scheduled start time of the session.
  • Members must check-in for virtual group exercise class sessions no later than 5-minutes after the scheduled start time of the session.
  • This membership is non-refundable and non-transferable (i.e. it may only be used by the person who purchased them).
  • Members must be logged into Zoom with an active Zoom account in order to be granted admission to virtual classes.
  • The group exercise class schedule is subject to change and advanced-purchase of this membership does not guarantee the future availability of any specific classes. The rescheduling or removal of classes from the schedule does not entitle the member to a refund.
  • This membership provides access to the classes/workouts listed on the program calendar and to the online video library, not to any specific instructors. Instructors are subject to change at any time, and the change in availability of any specific instructor does not entitle the member to a refund.

UC Reciprocity 

UC Reciprocity is a partnership between all University of California Campus Recreation departments to allow all UC student and faculty/staff Campus Recreation members to utilize recreation facilities across all UC campuses.

Access Requirements

Facility access requirements vary from school to school. However, at minimum, the following will be required to activate your reciprocity membership:

  • Present current UC ID card or other valid picture ID
  • Present proof of current enrollment or employment (class schedule, paid tuition bill, employment offer letter, UCPATH screenshot, recent paycheck)
    • An active Campus Rec membership at your home institution may be required 
  • Sign institution specific waivers
  • Abide by all host institution facility use and access policies
    • Remember you are a representative of your home institution!

COVID-19 Protocol

  • Effective August 1st 2022, the daily symptom check questionnaire form is no longer required for visitors or employees working on-site at UCSC-owned or leased facilities. INSTEAD, only those who may have possible COVID-19 symptoms should complete the symptom check questionnaire; stay home, and contact your healthcare provider.
