For over forty years, UC Santa Cruz Adventure Rec has offered Wilderness Orientation (WO) as an invaluable experience for early-career college students. Throughout the trip you'll be introduced to both wilderness travel and reflect on your college experience, both within the context of a healthy group experience.
WO was founded in 1983 to deliver an incredible community-building outdoor experience that sets you up to:
- Make friends and build community to support your college experience;
- Discuss college life and unique features of a UCSC education;
- Learn about yourself through the triumphs and challenges of traveling in the wilderness.
Thanks to a generous donation, Wilderness Orientation 2024 is FREE!
Registration fees are considered a deposit and will be fully refunded for all those who show up and participate.
Priority will be given to students completing their first year at UCSC, including frosh and transfers. Space is limited.
