Physical Education Classes at UC Santa Cruz
Students at UC Santa Cruz have access to a wide variety of different boating courses every quarter. These classes are FREE and meet once a week throughout the duration of the quarter. Enroll through your student portal as you would any other academic class.
Courses are mixed gender, hands-on, Physical Education courses. Each class meets a total of eight times at the dock (weather permitting). Good attendance is strongly recommended in order to achieve the best results. Satisfactory completion allows you to move on to the next class and achieve higher levels in the Community Boating Center Sailing Club. Students learn the basics inside the protected Santa Cruz Harbor, then venture out to Monterey Bay for further practice.
Adult Community Courses
We offer the majority of our community classes during the summer. These courses are available to anyone over 17 years old. During the academic year, we occasionally offer select classes to community members. Please contact us to get up-to-date information on the community classes available.
